Embedded Linux Software Engineer

This is a challenging and exciting role that requires the ability to design, implement and deliver high-quality solutions across PC and IoT technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux packaging, open source communities and licences, as well as C and C++ programming.

The role involves working on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge, and collaborating with partners to deliver a delightful and optimised Ubuntu experience on their platforms.

  • Design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
  • Work with customers on exciting IoT and server platforms and technologies, built to support different verticals: from robots to data centers, from telco to retail.
  • Participate as technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge.

Additional skills that would be beneficial include experience with graphics stacks, good understanding of networking, basic understanding of security best practices in IoT or server environments, and good communication skills. Requirements
  • Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
  • Experience working with open source communities and licences.
  • Experience working with C, C++.
  • Good communication skills, ideally public speaking experience.
  • IoT / Embedded experience – from board and SoC, BMCs, bootloaders and firmware to OS, through apps and services.
