We are currently seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our grounds crew, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and aesthetic appeal of our venues.
The successful candidate will have experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field. You will be required to maintain turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and soft landscapes, as well as hard landscaping features like courts and paving.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that all equipment, tools, and machinery are in good working order and properly maintained. This includes reporting any faults promptly and adhering to safe work practices.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other staff members and stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
- Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the safety and aesthetic appeal of our outdoor spaces.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to ensure that our facilities are always looking their best.
- Collaborate with other staff members and stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.
