Job Summary

We are seeking a Power Generation Specialist to play a key role in maintaining and operating hydropower stations across Tasmania's wild West Coast.

About the Role

  • Operate and maintain generating plant and equipment
  • Switch and reconfigure switchyards to ensure efficient power transmission
  • Manage headworks equipment and water flows to optimize energy production
  • Isolate and commission new equipment to support station upgrades
  • Monitor and report any plant anomalies or maintenance requirements

Key Requirements

  • Tradesperson with experience in mechanical or electrical fields, preferably with a strong background in hydropower operations
  • Strong safety mindset and fault-finding skills to minimize downtime and ensure safe working practices
  • Tasmanian Electrical Practitioners Licence (or interstate equivalent) for electrical tradespeople, or restricted electrical licence for mechanical tradespeople

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work on a 4-day week from Monday to Thursday, with options to stay local in Tullah or travel from further away using available work vehicles.
