Job Title: Food Service Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient individual to join our catering team as a Food Service Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and supporting our clinical and care teams in delivering nutritious meals and refreshments to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up each servery and dining area ready for each meal period, adhering to our high standards.
  • Prepare trolleys for tea breaks and supper, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Clean and maintain areas where food is prepared and served, following our strict cleaning schedules.
  • Assist with meal preparation when required, working closely with the kitchen team.
  • Monitor and record requirements of the Food Safety Plan, including temperatures, cleaning schedules, and receipt of goods.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in providing catering assistance or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Food Standards and Food Safety is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately, and communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as a team member, prioritizing tasks and adapting to various ways of supporting residents.
  • Digital literacy is a must.
