Mental Health Services Consultant Psychiatrist

The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Psychiatrist to join their team as a Staff Specialist. This is a permanent full-time opportunity to provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical services to patients in rural North Queensland.
Key Responsibilities- Providing specialist psychiatric services to patients in Adult Mental Health Services - Rural Consumers, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex mental health conditions.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the service.
- Participating in education and training programs for healthcare professionals, both within the service and externally.
- A recognized medical qualification in Psychiatry from an Australian or New Zealand university, and current registration with/or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements.
- Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- Possession of a class C drivers' licence.
The remuneration package for this role includes a salary range of $7827.20 - $9924.00 per fortnight, with opportunities for additional allowances and benefits, such as recreational leave loading, employer contribution to superannuation, attraction and retention incentive allowance, regional and rural attraction allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development assistance, and inaccessibility allowance if applicable.
