About the Role:
This position is a key member of an operations team responsible for achieving business objectives while delivering safe, timely and cost-efficient production and delivery of materials to meet customer needs. The role’s key functional responsibilities include leading the implementation of transport and logistics strategies/plans and project initiatives for NSW recycling businesses, ensuring consistency and alignment with the overall business plan.
You will develop and champion a continuous improvement culture ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of the transport and logistics function across all NSW recycling sites. Responsibilities include:
- Execution of the transport planning and scheduling process
- Management of the Transport Team
- Capacity and Sales and Operational planning
- Carrier and fleet performance management
- Transport systems implementation, monitoring and governance to ensure both safety and customer compliance
This position requires a safety-focused leader with strong influencing and communication skills and a passion for delivering on time, within budget and to a high standard. The foundations required to be successful in this role include:
- 5+ years of logistics management experience ideally in a transport planning environment
- Experience in building and leading teams in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Experience in both fleet and carrier management
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of allocating various vehicle types, capacity, specifications, load configuration and load restraint
- Advanced stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
