Key Responsibilities:

As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality auto-electrical preventative maintenance, diagnostic, and repair services on a large fleet of modern surface mining, ancillary, and support equipment.

About the Role:

  • Ensure the achievement of budgeted maintenance targets by practicing preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and timely repair of surface mining equipment.
  • Support the efficient operation of the surface maintenance facilities by providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise, and practical application to minimize downtime and subsequent loss of production.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures and ensure that these are consistently adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasks.
  • Maximize return on assets through effective utilization and care of surface mining maintenance equipment and tools, with due consideration of safety and environmental issues.
  • Complete all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties, such as requisitioning of parts and materials, processing of maintenance orders, recording of labor time, etc., through AMT, SAP, and other relevant information management systems.
  • Actively support on-the-job training of apprentices.

About You:

  • Recognized Auto Electrical Trade Qualification & Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical (Air conditioning).
  • Previous experience in a Surface Mining environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of surface mining technologies and equipment, including Komatsu, Caterpillar, Sandvik, and Volvo.
  • Experience with Underground Mobile Equipment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Sound diagnostic experience.
  • HR Truck Licence, Dogging, Rigging, First Aid, and Forklift Tickets would be highly regarded.
