About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Risk Management Lead to join our team at Westpac. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a risk culture within the team, ensuring that all team members are aware of and understand their roles and responsibilities in managing risk.
  • Manage the governance framework for cloud security and compliance, ensuring that all cloud services and applications are secure and compliant with organizational policies and standards.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the risk and security posture of cloud services and applications, identifying and mitigating potential risks and threats.
  • Execute regulatory assessments of customer workload onboarding, ensuring accurate assessment of materiality, jurisdiction, and controls compliance.
  • Build relationships with risk and security teams to assist in the delivery of cloud engineering initiatives and ongoing support activities.
  • Own periodic internal and external audit requests, ensuring timely and effective response.
  • Conduct regular risk culture activities to develop team risk culture and awareness.
  • Coach and mentor the team in maintaining a risk profile within appetite.
  • Assist in the assessment of rating risk incidents and issues, and manage items until closure.
  • Liaise with executive and senior stakeholders (Architecture, Security, and Engineering) and Suppliers.
  • Contribute to effective communications with Suppliers and proactively establish a network of key technical experts.
  • Contribute to the common 'one team' mindset that includes collaboration and a sense of joint responsibility between Westpac teams and suppliers.
  • Maintain focus on industry and technical trends to enable evaluation and recommend changes to the business strategy/architecture and Public Cloud offerings, and automation and orchestration of services.
  • Apply Agile frameworks, techniques, and processes to deliver value to the business.
