Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Mental Health Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families, providing holistic support and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify communication and speech disorders.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs and goals.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to improve speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Offer guidance and support to clients' families and caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Psychology or a related field.
  • Previous experience in mental health within the NDIS preferable but not essential.
  • Pre-existing registration with AHPRA (full or provisional registration).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with participants, their families and service providers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation.
  • Experience in working with people with complex needs including, complex trauma, adults and the elderly with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other complex and mental health diagnoses.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills, particularly in advocacy, mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution.
