Job Description:

As a nurse educator, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating educational programs to meet the needs of healthcare professionals working within clinical settings.

The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure equitable access to educational support and resources, thereby enhancing clinical competence.

Education portfolios/programs are developed in partnership with the nursing education department and are current and evidence-based.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and evaluate education programs for healthcare staff in clinical environments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of education services.
  • Ensure equitable access to educational support and resources to enhance clinical competence.
  • Develop evidence-based curriculum, programs, policies and procedures within the clinical environment and broader organisation.
  • Oversee education portfolios/programs in collaboration with the nursing education department and ensure education is current and based on the best available evidence.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a registered nurse (division 1) with the relevant health practitioner regulation agency.
  • Relevant postgraduate education qualifications or relevant postgraduate clinical qualifications with a certificate iv in training and assessment (or working towards).
  • Comprehensive clinical knowledge and experience in an acute care perioperative environment.
  • Ability to integrate theoretical knowledge and clinical skills and to develop, implement and evaluate education programs using innovative educational strategies, including e-learning.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
