Ecologist Position in Sydney and Newcastle

We are seeking a talented Ecologist to join our team in Sydney and Newcastle, New South Wales. This role will involve project managing and delivering environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, specifically flora and fauna, biodiversity, and habitat.

Your Impact:

  • Project manage and deliver environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems;
  • Assist in and supervise field surveys including terrestrial flora and fauna;
  • Produce high-quality technical reports; and
  • Identify issues and problems and develop appropriate solutions.

What you need to succeed:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or related field;
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in either an environmental consultancy or the public sector, including undertaking ecological/environmental surveys and report production;
  • Understanding and application of all relevant legislation that underpins ecological projects;
  • High-level flora and fauna identification skills;
  • Ability to use information technology, including Microsoft Office software and appropriate field equipment;
  • Experience working with a wide range of environmental planning projects;
  • Solid report writing skills;
  • Comprehensive interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Driver's license essential, 4WD experience, and accreditation preferable;
  • Project management skills preferred but not essential;
  • Flexibility to travel for field work.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum
