Our team provides a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Withdrawal Unit Nurse to join our team at Bridge House, a 7-bed unit offering low-medical withdrawal support to individuals seeking recovery from AOD use.

This is a permanent, part-time position with a variability and flexibility of hours, reporting to the Nurse Team Leader.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical observations, including withdrawal assessment using relevant assessment tools
  • Administer medication to support participants through the withdrawal process, providing symptomatic relief
  • Provide low-medical support to withdrawal participants, such as basic wound care, health assessment, and screening
  • Develop health-related withdrawal treatment plans in collaboration with participants and the broader Bridge House team
  • Support participants with co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions, histories of trauma, homelessness, and other complex experiences
  • Liaise with participant's treating health practitioners, pharmacies, and other relevant health services to provide continuity of care
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Div. 1 Registered Nurse or Div. 2 Enrolled Nurse
  • Qualifications in AOD and Mental Health highly regarded
  • Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
  • Current unrestricted Western Australian Driver's License
  • Demonstrated experience working within the Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, and/or Homelessness sectors
  • An understanding of the principles of trauma-informed practice
  • An understanding of withdrawal management, including competence in the use of a range of withdrawal monitoring tools and knowledge of withdrawal pharmacotherapy
  • Advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a multidisciplinary team
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
