The Course Director (Film and Animation) is responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of a suite of cognate academic courses at Navitas.
Reporting to the Dean, the Course Director's primary objectives are:
- Drive Academic Excellence: Ensure the currency of curriculum to support strong graduate outcomes, and drive course quality and compliance, including curriculum review and development.
- Identify Market Opportunities: Develop and implement new course and unit proposals to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Lead Scholarship and Creative Practice: Establish Navitas as a leader in the discipline by fostering a culture of scholarship and creative practice.
- Build Industry Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with scholars and industry partners to benefit the currency of Navitas' curriculum and raise the professional standing of the institute.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement academic strategies to drive course quality and compliance.
- Lead the development of new course and unit proposals to meet industry needs.
- Foster a culture of scholarship and creative practice within the discipline group.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry partners to benefit the curriculum and raise the professional standing of the institute.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or relevant postgraduate qualification in the field of the course or a closely related discipline.
- Excellent understanding of the Higher Education Standards.
- A track record in scholarship and/or creative practice in a relevant discipline.
- Significant teaching and learning leadership experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Demonstrated expertise and currency in the subject matter and relevant industry practices.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment design.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
