South Coast Baptist College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Pastoral Care to join our team. As the Director of Pastoral Care, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development and oversight of a protective behaviours curriculum.
- Oversee significant behavioural investigations and facilitate the Exclusions Process.
- Manage and improve behaviour management processes and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
- Provide leadership for the Student Services Team, including Nurses and Chaplains.
- Oversee student wellbeing spaces, including suspension and timeout rooms.
- Respond to and follow up with students showing low attendance.
- Facilitate parent and community engagement events focused on pastoral care.
- Initiate and lead professional development for staff in effective classroom management and wellbeing practices.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in education, pastoral care, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in leading pastoral care or student wellbeing programs within a Secondary School context.
- Proven ability to manage significant behavioural issues and investigations.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary pastoral care and wellbeing strategies.
- To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- To accept the College's Statement of Faith.
- Build co-operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students and parents.
- Work to ensure personal best practice.
- Ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair.
- Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Always act in the best interest of the College and its ethos.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
- First Aid certificate.
- Working with Children Card.
