About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Critical Minerals Geoscience (Level B). This is a continuing position available to women and non-binary candidates only.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and teaching in critical minerals geoscience, with a focus on economic geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, igneous and metamorphic petrology, structural geology, geodynamics, and earth surface processes.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching programs at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels, including classroom, laboratory, field, and virtual environments.
  • Contribute to the development of new courses and programs, and participate in curriculum design and review.
  • Engage in research collaboration with industry and government institutions, and develop a vigorous externally-funded research program.
  • Supervise honours and postgraduate research students, and contribute to the growth and development of the Earth Sciences group.
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent degree in Earth Sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate-level Earth Science or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated research excellence and interest in geoscience applied to critical mineral ore systems, including a publication record in highly regarded scientific journals.
  • A track record of successful engagement and research collaboration with industry and/or government institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and work effectively as a member of a research team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills, and ability to forge collaborative relationships and engage others.
