About the Role

As a key member of the Legal, Integrity & Procurement Department at the City of Greater Geelong, you will play a vital role in shaping the department's future. The department strives to implement best practices in legal, risk management, integrity, and procurement across the City, emphasizing collegiality and collaboration.

The successful candidate will take on a leadership position, actively contributing to the department's positive leadership and cultural goals while fostering a cohesive and high-performing team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a Clear Vision: Formulate goals to achieve a clear, inspiring vision for the team's future and communicate it effectively to lead the department.
  • Develop Departmental Capabilities: Develop departmental capabilities to meet the requirements of its future strategic goals.
  • Drive Collaboration: Engage and build strategic networks and partnerships with key stakeholders internally and throughout the industry to drive collaboration.
  • Manage Resources: Manage all aspects of the department's resources and budget planning for effective operations; regularly tracking and reporting on performance against departmental goals.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable senior leadership experience along with extensive experience in procurement and sourcing management, ideally within a public sector or government context.

You will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies and managing large, complex sourcing projects. Strong understanding of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices is essential. A tertiary qualification in procurement, law, commerce, or a related field, and significant professional experience in procurement planning and contract management in a comparable organization, are also required.
