About the Role
BESIX Infra is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Building Cadet to join our team in the Illawarra region. As a Building Cadet, you will be part of our 2-year cadet and graduate program, which will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry, including engineering, design, estimating, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company safety policies, practices, and procedures to ensure a safe workplace at all times.
- Ensure compliance with company quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with trade package tendering, including compilation and approval of tender documents and proposed tender lists.
- Assist with general administration of trade packages, including progress payments, variations, and final accounts.
- Assist with the general administration of head contracts, including progress claims, extension of time claims, and variations.
- Compile and control project documents, including maintenance of a control register.
- Perform general site duties, office, and administration tasks as required.
Requirements
- Studying a construction, building, or engineering tertiary course at a recognized institution, ideally in second or third year.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and ability to learn new software packages as required.
- Proven high level of professionalism and work ethic.
- Proven track record and ongoing focus on timeliness, accuracy, and punctuality.
- Attendance of lectures during work hours not to exceed 1 full-day or 2 half-days per week.
