High-Level Oncology Nursing Position

As a highly skilled and dedicated specialist oncology nurse, you will join our team at a well-established group of veterinary hospitals. Our purpose-designed hospital houses various specialty services, including small animal surgery, internal medicine, neurology, surgical and medical oncology, advanced imaging, and a 24/7 emergency and critical care service.
We uphold high clinical and professional standards driven by genuine care and compassion. Work-life balance is essential to us; our full-time specialty nurses have a regular day off fortnightly, with minimal weekend work. A dedicated support team helps our nursing staff focus on delivering outstanding patient care.
About You
You share the values of our existing specialty nursing team – delivering exceptional patient care. You are organized, adaptable, enthusiastic, and an excellent communicator. You possess strong multi-tasking skills and are comfortable working in a fast-paced role. You enjoy collaborating with your colleagues and value good teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a busy general practice or referral (specialist hospital) or emergency nursing environment
- Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with veterinarians, other nurses, and clients
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of disease processes, treatment options, and medications related to oncology nursing
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in oncology nursing
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certificate IV in veterinary nursing and/or BAppSc (Veterinary Technology) degree or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years nursing experience in a busy general practice or experience in referral (specialist hospital) or emergency nursing
- A strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, and capability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
