Coatings Manager

About the Role

As a Painting Supervisor at ASSA ABLOY, you will be responsible for overseeing surface preparation, coating applications, and completing assigned projects to the highest standards. This position is based onsite at Forest Glen, QLD.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure surfaces are properly prepared for coating by cleaning, sanding, and priming as needed.
• Apply coatings, varnishes, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Select appropriate materials and tools for each job.
• Repair and fill cracks, holes, and imperfections before coating.
• Mix and match coatings to ensure accurate colours.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• E nsure all work areas are clean and organized before and after the job.
• Collaborate with the team to complete projects on time and to customer satisfaction.

About You:

• Proven experience as a professional Painter or Coating Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of various coating techniques, materials, and surface preparation methods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, and specifications is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• The ability to read and write, along with arithmetic skills, is crucial.
• Ability to use hand tools and operate basic machinery.

Expected Salary: Approximately $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
