A typical day as a Flight Preparation Specialist involves working across various areas to prepare essential elements for delivering exceptional dining experiences onboard airline flights.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and plating meals, ensuring presentation meets specifications using visual guides.
  • Stocking airline carts with dry store items, including equipment, packaged snacks, and beverages.
  • Loading and unloading wash lines, ensuring cutlery, crockery, and glassware are in pristine condition.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and HACCP guidelines, adhering to hygiene standards and cleaning schedules.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure timely delivery of services.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods and lift items.
  • Flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including shift work.
  • Nice and tidy personal presentation.
  • Familiarity with food hygiene and HACCP principles (desired but not essential).
  • Basic knife skills (desired but not essential).
  • Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this is a full-time permanent position.
