Job Overview

This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality health care to children aged 0–5 years and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, provide preventive care, and implement early intervention strategies for young children and their families.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and evaluate nursing care plans that prioritize family-centered practice.
  • Deliver client-centric care that is safe, evidence-based, and aligned with primary health care principles.
  • Contribute to health promotion, education, and community development initiatives within the service.
Requirements
  • Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and possess effective communication skills to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated recent experience or completion of a new graduate RN program, with a focus on caring for children aged 0–5 years and their families/carers.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team to facilitate care planning for families with complex needs.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, teamwork, and autonomous work capabilities, coupled with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, evidence-based practice, and awareness of changes in healthcare.
  • Proficiency in using information technology systems and willingness to undertake training in electronic health record systems.
  • Current NSW State driver's license (including P1 or above) and willingness to utilize it for work purposes.
