Job Overview

The Utilities Infrastructure Manager oversees the successful management and delivery of critical utilities projects. They will identify risks, manage relationships with utility companies, and optimize time and cost positions.

The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in utilities management, ideally with a civil background. They must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee utilities: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate utilities strategies across packages and contracts; provide general support for utility-related issues; conduct SME reviews on utility-related design submissions; coordinate utility designers, surveyors, and Utilities Digital Engineers; manage utilities site investigations and early works packages; identify time and cost improvement opportunities; escalate utilities issues to senior management for timely mitigation; prepare and present regular reports and presentations to senior leadership on utilities risks.
  • Risk Mitigation and Strategy: Take charge of utilities risk management, identify significant risks, and collaborate to establish effective mitigation measures; develop mitigating strategies with senior management to minimize delays and cost escalation.
  • Collaboration, Support & Business Development: Provide tender support and coordination for tender packages, maintain strong relationships with clients, utility owners, authorities, and other external stakeholders; work with the wider utilities team; identify opportunities for new work and support bids, including input to tender submissions and presentations.
  • Utilities Delivery Leadership: Lead and coordinate with utility designers, contractors, and designers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of utility works.
