About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a HSEQ Manager to lead our team in promoting a positive and generative approach to health and safety, environment, and quality functions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the implementation of Safety Management Plans across the project.
  • Ensure compliance with legislations, regulations, and standards and that all project activities are undertaken safely, with suitable frameworks and documentation.
  • Lead investigations of safety-related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team.
  • Implement processes to ensure communication and compliance with all SHEQ policies.
  • Oversee employee rehabilitation, including Return to Work planning.
  • Ensure risk assessments and risk registers are developed and maintained.
  • Ensure that the Ventia Critical Risk Protocols are embedded in the project through Leaders.
  • Promote a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment.
  • Utilise data to enable informed decisions to be made in relation to asset disposal, renewal, and planned maintenance programs.
  • Develop and deliver safety-related training when required, including new starter induction, toolbox talks, and prestart meetings.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Cert IV Workplace/Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental, or Quality Equivalent.
  • Training and relevant experience in incident investigation.
  • Internal Auditor Qualification.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in safety/environment/quality or relevant industry role.
  • Experience in managing safety audit programs to ensure effective system compliance.
  • Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements, and ISO standards within a utility or infrastructure project environment.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships utilising appropriate influence and negotiation.
