A Career Opportunity in Application Security

This role suits individuals passionate about application security with relevant tertiary qualifications and commercial experience in security, preferably in application security or software engineering roles.

Job Responsibilities
  • We require an Application Security Engineer to review application code for security vulnerabilities and best practices.
  • The successful candidate will help deliver high-quality and security-hardened code based on OWASP and Protecht secure coding standards.
  • This includes assessing application vulnerabilities and providing clear paths for developers to mitigate the vulnerabilities.
  • The role also involves creating and maintaining a single view of application security tasks from different sources, analysing and prioritising tasks with dev teams.
  • Key responsibilities include driving and upskilling Protecht developers to maintain a security-aware culture.
  • The selected candidate will own and enforce secure development policies amongst Protecht development teams.
  • The position requires creating and maintaining documentation to support the development of secure software.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Commercial experience in Java and/or React development.
  • Experience with REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with common information security frameworks, standards, principles, and processes (OWASP, SANS, NIST, ISO, etc.).
  • Understanding and experience with common security libraries, security controls, and common security vulnerabilities.
