Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DBA and Systems Programmer to join our Health Solutions Business Unit at Civica. In this critical position, you will play a vital role in delivering top-notch database support for the design, development, and maintenance of key solutions using Informix and Microsoft SQL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level database administration for Informix and MS SQL Server, including performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain stored procedures, indexing, and scripting solutions to ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support database solutions.
  • Act as a technical escalation point and provide Level 2 customer support, resolving complex database issues and ensuring timely resolution within established SLAs.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations to address incidents outside regular working hours and during public holidays.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in database administration, particularly with Informix Server or MS SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience in maintaining Informix and 4GL solutions, with a strong understanding of indexes, index management, and statistics.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting languages, such as Perl, Python, or PowerShell, with expertise in application development, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Linux Server environments, including SuSE and RedHat platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
