On Country Roads Civil & Mining is seeking an experienced and self-motivated rural grazing land manager to lead the implementation of a major biodiversity and offset area management project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering practical land management activities to achieve biodiversity and land management outcomes, ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with statutory requirements and to agreed performance standards.

The role involves supervising a small team of operational staff, maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, and participating in wild-fire management and the handling of wildlife.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • 10+ years of experience in practical land management, including weed and feral animal control, erosion and sediment control, fencing and watering point management, vegetation and fire management, and sustainable grazing land management.
  • Demonstrated ability and physical fitness to undertake practical physical work involving walking and manual labour in the outdoors.
  • Proven ability in issue identification, problem solving, and development of practical solutions.
  • Proven ability to monitor progress across multiple tasks and reporting schedules, revise priorities, and deliver outcomes on time and within budgets.

Special aspects of the role include on-call and out of hours work, intrastate travel, and participation in wild-fire management and the handling of wildlife.
