Job Title: Painter

Location: Queensland, Australia

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at the InterContinental Hayman Island Great Barrier Reef. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to painting, plastering, minor carpentry, plumbing, and equipment repairs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform painting, plastering, and minor carpentry tasks as required
  • Assist with wall and surface preparation and basic bathroom maintenance
  • Instruct other engineering staff in correct methods of surface preparation and paint application
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety guidelines and report any hazards or unsafe practices
  • Maintain effective communication with managers and colleagues to foster a positive working atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Hold a formal qualification in Painting, Decorating, and/or Plastering
  • Possess a QLD White Card and Drivers Licence
  • Have the physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects up to 50lbs (23 kg)
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
