Job Role

The Personal Care Assistant provides personalized care services to clients in their residence, promoting independence and effective coping mechanisms while maintaining desired standards of personal care and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a range of personal care tasks as outlined in the care plan.
  • Encourage recipients' independence and self-reliance.
  • Assist with medications according to scope of practice.
  • Apply medical aids.
  • Document completed tasks in patient files after each visit.
  • Provide feedback to the Registered Nurse if any changes are observed in the client's mental or physical health, or environment.
  • Seek clarification of delegated roles from the Registered Nurse as required.
  • Adhere to and support the organization's Mission and Values.

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Certificate 3 in Home and Community Care, Aged Care, Disability or Individual Support.
  • Current First Aid Certificate Level 2.
  • State driver's license.
