Job Overview

As a mechanical piping design professional, you will be responsible for creating and integrating high-quality 3D piping system models and 2D production outputs for complex mechanical and piping systems on the Hunter Class Frigates.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and produce accurate piping layouts and isometric drawings under supervision.
  • Assist with system integration and spatial coordination in a 3D design environment to ensure seamless collaboration between teams.
  • Support problem investigations and propose effective solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Engage with experienced designers to build technical competence and expand your skill set.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in piping system design in a 3D CAD environment.
  • Ability to produce fabrication, spool, and installation drawings for mechanical/piping systems.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Siemens NX, REVIT).
  • Diploma of Engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Desirable: Trade background or piping design experience in shipbuilding, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
