Role Overview

The Cargo Supervisor plays a crucial role in the operational management of the cargo warehouse facility. This includes handling administrative tasks that support all essential business functions, ensuring efficient service delivery that meets and exceeds both company and client expectations.

The successful candidate will address daily operational challenges and navigate competing demands within a dynamic environment characterized by various stakeholder priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a customer-focused cargo operation by supervising, organizing, and coordinating all work areas during operational shifts.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to enhance team performance and service quality.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation to meet operational needs and adhere to Service Level Agreements.
  • Implement and monitor business processes and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and dnata policies.
  • Deliver quality metrics and reports on critical business issues.
  • Promote a positive safety culture within the team, emphasizing awareness and vigilance.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Adhere to dnata's Safety and Environment Policies.
  • Comply with legislative Health & Safety requirements.
  • Foster a positive safety culture focused on awareness and vigilance.
  • Conduct work in accordance with dnata's Health & Safety Management System.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in emergency drills and evacuations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience with a commitment to fostering a customer-centric service culture.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with effective negotiation abilities.
  • High level of proficiency in computer applications.
  • Experience in a regulated industry, with the capability to lead and manage compliance with industry standards and legislative requirements.
  • Understanding of financial and budgeting processes, with the ability to drive business improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Hermes Cargo Operations System.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge of airline industry principles and procedures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cargo handling and warehouse operations.
