The Role of a Business Development Representative
">- Business development representatives play a key role in finding customer projects that align with our product offerings and promoting our brand across various industries and geographies.
This involves collaborating with regional sales and marketing teams to identify potential opportunities and execute outbound sales and marketing campaigns.
Key responsibilities include researching information about prospective customers and market trends, generating high-quality leads for senior sellers, owning and closing small to medium business (SMB) opportunities within designated territories, collaborating across multiple teams and senior stakeholders, and defining processes and policies for the team.
Additionally, business development representatives are expected to travel to events and conferences worldwide, presenting on booths and driving face-to-face marketing and sales opportunities.
Requirements- A successful business development representative should have demonstrated success in similar roles, exceeding annual quotas and consistently driving qualified pipeline growth.
- They should have experience navigating prospective accounts from and into senior executive levels to identify new customer opportunities.
- Experience in enterprise software or technology sales is also highly desirable.
- Other essential skills and qualifications include exceptional academic track records, passion for business and technology, commitment to continuous learning and improvement, creative problem-solving, cross-team collaboration, professional written and spoken English, excellent presentation skills, verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, result-driven attitude, persistence and perseverance, and a growth mindset.
