Senior Transmission Lines Engineer

At Ausnet Services, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Asset Management team in Transmission Lines and Structures. As a key member of our team, you'll provide specialized expertise to drive the development of asset management strategies and philosophies, ensuring the reliability and resilience of our transmission lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise associated with overhead lines from 66 kV to 500 kV and tower structures, including communications towers.
- Contribute to asset management strategies and philosophies, line performance, technical specifications, and equipment standards.
- Determine line ratings and publish these ratings for Victorian Planning purposes.
- Initiate projects, develop concepts, prepare business cases, and project handover documentation.
- Support implementation of asset management and asset replacement initiatives, along with business case development for economic capital works plans.
- Review, assess, and audit the condition of installed transmission line assets.
- Investigate and analyze transmission line equipment failures or problems, drafting reports.
- Make technical decisions in relation to transmission lines and approve relevant technical documentation.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering.
- Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks, and relevant standards.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian and International standards and industry codes of practice.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferably in a regulated environment.
- In-depth knowledge of transmission system components, equipment, and technologies, with a focus on transmission lines and emerging trends and innovations.
- Knowledge of relevant software packages used for analysis and design of transmission lines and structures, e.g., PLS-CAD suite.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize asset performance.
- Advanced level of reasoning skills and engineering judgment.
- Professional body membership: National Engineering Registration.
