Packing Assistant Job

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Packing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our packing crew, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of fresh produce to our customers.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Picking and packing fresh produce boxes for individual customer orders
  • Counting, sorting, and preparing fresh produce for the day's packing session
  • Weighing produce to correct quantity while maintaining good quality
  • Performing duties such as manual lifting, packaging, labeling, and checking quality
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly working environment
  • Following safety requirements and other general warehouse duties as required

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent literacy and communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, numeracy, great organizational and time management skills, a positive attitude, and ability to work well within a team environment.

We aim to create a positive, friendly, and supportive culture where you will thrive. This is a casual position requiring availability 3 days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7 am to 1 pm. The right person will have the flexibility to work longer or occasional extra shifts when required.

  • Excellent literacy and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Numeracy: ability to quickly mentally calculate correct amounts of fresh produce by weight or number
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to take direction
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Capable of meeting packing targets (packing 6 -7 orders in an hour)
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible, and willing to work longer or occasional extra shifts when required
