Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team. As a Senior Project Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering a mix of retail and Commercial Developer projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Authority approvals - You'll need to seek approval from certifiers, consultants, and builders before starting work on site. You'll also need to liaise with them to get all necessary documents.
  • Document management system - You'll be responsible for recording and distributing design documents and meeting minutes via a software system.
  • Design - You'll need to liaise with planners, engage external architects, traffic planners, and structural designers to finalize drawings.
  • Tendering - You'll be responsible for finalizing the scope of work, preparing cost plans, tender documents, and conducting tender briefings and interviews.
  • Construction coordination - You'll need to liaise with external stakeholders, including fit-out builders, nominated security, signage, and IT contractors.
  • Finance - You'll be responsible for forecasting cash flow, assessing payment claims, and variations.
  • Safety - You'll need to ensure safety observations are raised and encouraged with the builder, and that external safety auditors review safe practices on a monthly basis.
  • Reporting systems - You'll need to use Zircon, Asana, SAP, and Smart Sheets reporting systems.

Requirements

  • A recognized degree or equivalent qualification in a technical field, such as Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • A willingness to travel to construction project sites.
  • A hard-working, driven, self-sufficient, proactive, and motivated individual.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and remain focused and effective under pressure.
  • Ability to handle conflict and diffuse tension in a team.
  • Ability to lead external project teams and internal project team members and provide clear direction.
  • Ability to communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem-solve.
  • Ability to delegate roles and responsibilities and form a cohesive team.
  • Planning and managing quality, safety, health, and environment issues on projects.
  • Risk identification and management.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems.
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of a detailed project plan.
  • Advising on the procurement of contractors and consultants.
  • Coordinating with the overall cross-functional project team.
  • Managing the change control process.
  • Monitoring and advising on project finances.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client.
  • Ensuring the production of formal project progress and other reports.
