Key Responsibilities:- Respond to fires and emergencies promptly to minimize loss of life, property, and the environment.
- Enhance community safety through fire prevention and education activities.
The role requires effective communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities in Detail:- Respond to fires, road crash rescues, technical rescues, hazardous materials, and other emergencies as part of a fire crew.
- Operate emergency response vehicles and equipment safely and effectively, including driving fire appliances under various conditions.
- Provide first aid and resuscitation when needed.
- Maintain equipment, resources, and facilities to ensure operational readiness.
- Perform functions that apply acquired skills and knowledge, including research, risk reduction, readiness, response, and recovery.
- Support fire prevention awareness through community education programs.
- Assist with property inspections, evacuation planning, and emergency response procedures.
- Communicate effectively within the workplace, with emergency personnel, and community members.
- Maintain competencies and pursue training opportunities for self-development.
- Participate in tactical, operational, and technical training to acquire and maintain skills.
- Undertake administrative duties, maintain records, and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Promote a positive team environment and uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements, including WHS legislation.
