About the Position

Our organization is seeking a skilled Spatial Applications Analyst to join its GIS team.

The successful candidate will work with established geospatial systems, utilizing various spatial tools to provide support and advice on geographical information, maintain GIS databases, and develop innovative GIS solutions.

  • Project requirements such as data modeling, manipulation, visualization, and development of professional cartographic map products.
  • Provide accurate and timely spatial information using GIS that is appropriate to the needs of the organization.
Key Requirements
  1. Tertiary qualifications in Geospatial Science, Geomatics, and Database Systems, along with working knowledge of Land Ownership and Titles System.
  2. Proven experience of GIS software (QGIS, MapInfo, and IntraMaps) and related programming including FME, ogr2ogr, and GDAL.
  3. Proven experience of SQL Server spatial databases, manipulating and statistical analysis of data, and integrated systems with a working knowledge and understanding of robust data management principles.
  4. Demonstrated experience in process documentation and creating data flow and modeling diagrams.
  5. Ability to show initiative and have demonstrated an innovative approach in providing effective solutions to requests utilizing spatial information.
  6. Demonstrate clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with ability to readily gain the confidence of others and set high standards of professionalism in communication.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and positively contribute to the team.
  8. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
