About the Role

MRAEL is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Fitter Machinist to join their team at SWB in Smithfield, NSW. As a well-established company with over 50 years of experience, SWB offers a unique opportunity for individuals to develop their skills and knowledge in the mechanical trades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workshop-based mechanical repairs, including gearboxes, pumps, and brakes
  • Dismantling, cleaning, assessing, and measuring parts
  • Machining using Lathe, Mill, and Slotter equipment
  • Cleaning of the workshop and assisting with maintaining equipment
  • Some on-site work and workshop deliveries in the local area
Requirements
  • A positive attitude to learn in the workplace
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures, both written and verbal
  • Ability to operate equipment and systems
