Construction Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Manager to join our team in Perth. The successful candidate will provide construction input and technical expertise on all construction-related activities, integrating engineering and procurement.

The ideal candidate will have a recognized field and office background, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Staff management experience and knowledge transfer are also essential.

The Construction Manager will be responsible for developing a construction execution strategy, organizing charts and resource plans, and implementing advanced work packaging processes. They will also drive the 'right to left' delivery model and ensure that all aspects of design and procurement have sufficient construction input.

The role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including contracts and procurement teams, HSE managers, and company subject matter experts. The successful candidate will assess construction risks and logistics at every stage of design and provide input in preparing weekly and monthly reports.

The Construction Manager will ensure safe, efficient, and structured delivery of all construction activities in accordance with the project schedule. This includes mobilization and de-mobilization planning of resources, providing construction input to estimating, and reviewing engineering deliverables to ensure constructability issues are incorporated.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of work experience, skills, and qualifications in the following areas:

  • Recognized field and office background
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Methodical work ethic
  • Staff management experience (knowledge transfer)
  • Excellent communications skills

The Construction Manager will have the opportunity to develop modularization/pre-assembly approaches, undertake modularization studies, and pre-assembly opportunities. They will also coordinate with HSE managers in the preparation of the Construction Health and Safety plan.
