About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to contribute to a high-impact project supporting a world-leading initiative.

This is an exciting opportunity for a data analytics professional to make a meaningful difference in our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Extract, cleanse and prepare data from multiple sources, including data warehouses, to support informed decision-making.
  • Develop and update regular performance monitoring reports to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support statutory reporting requirements, including data analysis for public and internal reporting, by providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Design and utilise statistical and mathematical modelling techniques for predictive analysis to drive business outcomes.
  • Communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders through clear and concise verbal and written updates.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, ideally in a government or policy development context, with a strong understanding of data manipulation and analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for data manipulation and analysis, with experience working with large datasets.
  • Strong SQL/SAS programming skills, with the ability to develop complex queries and manipulate data effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal guidance, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A general understanding of statistical modelling techniques and their applications, with experience developing dashboards and visualisations for non-technical stakeholders.
