Southwest Georgia Farm Credit is on the lookout for a seasoned Relationship Manager/Commercial Ag Lender to oversee our extensive 21-county area in southwest Georgia. This role will be based in Camilla, Georgia.

Southwest Georgia Farm Credit is a financial entity dedicated to providing funding for agricultural ventures, agribusiness, and rural property acquisitions and enhancements. Our headquarters is located in Bainbridge, and we operate six offices serving 21 counties in the southwestern region of Georgia. With assets exceeding $600 million, we are a cooperative and part of the nationwide Farm Credit System.
Position Overview
The Relationship Manager/Commercial Ag Lender is tasked with implementing a business development strategy that fosters portfolio expansion of qualified loans, structured to meet the financial goals of the Association. The ideal candidate will act as a proactive sales and business development ambassador for the Association, showcasing strong negotiation skills and a proven track record in achieving sales targets. This role requires comprehensive experience in commercial lending, including risk evaluation and loan structuring, while ensuring adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. The Relationship Manager/Commercial Ag Lender will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of credit administration and quality, as well as developing and managing a loan portfolio aligned with the Association's growth objectives.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, agriculture, economics, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Outstanding prospecting and networking abilities
- A minimum of five years of experience in commercial lending is preferred
- Strong analytical, judgment, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to make assertive and informed business decisions that benefit both the borrower and the Association
- Proven sales and negotiation capabilities in the realm of commercial lending
- Familiarity with agriculture, market dynamics, and competitive landscape
- In-depth knowledge of the local area and its agricultural landscape
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in farming or ranching with relevant practical knowledge
- Previous experience with Farm Credit
