Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia Field Mining Services Group Full time

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Machinery Technician to join our team at Field Mining Services Group. As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery at various mine sites in Papua New Guinea.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery, including electrical systems and components
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operation of machinery
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and optimize performance
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and national workforce members

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy machinery maintenance and repair, with a focus on electrical systems
  • Proven track record of working in challenging environments and meeting deadlines
  • Strong understanding of CAT Machine systems and experience with Atlas Copco and Sandvik Drill Rigs and Hitachi, O&K, and CAT Shovels and Excavators
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multinational team environment
  • Current Passport with at least 12 months of validity and ability to pass a medical examination and Australian Federal Police Clearance
