**Job Title:** Urban Designer**About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Urban Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will play a critical role in shaping the public domain of our city as a sustainable and livable place.

**Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop framework and concept designs for parklands and urban spaces as part of our CBD renewal program.
  • Manage special projects arising from our Liveable Centres Program.
  • Prepare detailed designs and cost estimates for recreational, open space, and landscape projects.
  • Ensure all designs are completed according to professional standards.
  • Participate in community consultation processes and prepare concept design, detailed design, tender documentation, and review of environmental factors.
  • Develop and document landscape master plans suitable for public exhibition.
  • Provide technical advisory service to other departments on environmental and landscape matters.
  • Prepare project briefs, programs, deliverables, and contract documentation for external consultants.
**Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or an equal related design field.
  • Current Class C Driver's license.
  • White Card.
  • Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience in Landscape Architecture.
  • High-level skills and experience in design and documentation using AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated high-quality written, graphic, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in, or a demonstrated understanding of project management processes including project planning and programming, design and review, community engagement, procurement, and purchasing processes (RFQ and RFT), and construction techniques (managed by others).
  • Experience working within multi-discipline teams including Architects, Landscape Architects, and Designers, Artists, Engineers, Contract Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Contractors.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills in negotiation, advocacy, consultation skills, and strong customer service focus.
  • Eligibility for Registration with AILA (Australian Institute of Landscape Architects).
