About the Role
The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for assisting with the end-to-end payment function of creditor invoices and daily processing and month end reporting.
Responsibilities
- Set up new suppliers in the finance system, process invoices, and reconcile payments with supplier statements.
- Complete end-of-month reporting and accounts payable tasks, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Update the administration manual regularly and provide strong customer support to maintain positive client relationships.
- Monitor and enforce workplace health and safety (WH&S) standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment, with respect for and an understanding of traditional Torres Strait Islander culture and customs.
- Possess computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and experience with computerized debtor systems.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment and undergo a required criminal history check.
- Have at least 5 years of continuous experience in a similar role within a multi-site commercial or government setting, with proven ability to manage a large supplier ledger.
- Ability to use productivity applications and web-based banking software.
