Chef Position Overview

Vanilla Pod Pizza & Pasta Bar is seeking an experienced Chef to lead our kitchen team in creating authentic Italian-inspired dishes. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for developing new recipes, supervising the preparation of various menu items, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation.

We are looking for someone with a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recipe Development: Plan and create new dishes that align with our restaurant's style and customer preferences.
  • Culinary Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff, delegating tasks effectively and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste to ensure efficient operations.
  • Menu Planning: Contribute to special menus and seasonal offerings, incorporating fresh ingredients and innovative techniques.
Essential Requirements:
  • Culinary Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an Italian restaurant setting.
  • Certification: Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Kitchen Environment: Proven ability to handle high-pressure kitchen environments, ensuring timely service and maintaining quality standards.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations.
Benefits and Compensation:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within our dynamic team.
