Deakin's School of Psychology seeks a highly respected academic leader to bring high-level research expertise and academic leadership to our institution.
- The successful candidate will specialise in any area of psychology, with clinical/mental health expertise particularly welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic leadership and high-level research expertise to the School.
- Mentor early and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) and supervise Higher Degree by Research students to completion as principal supervisor.
- Earn a national and international profile through high-impact publications and other outputs.
- Contribute to service to the discipline and secure external funding through competitive grants and industry partnerships that align with the strategic research priorities of the School.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- PhD or professional doctorate in a relevant discipline.
- Success in mentoring postdoctoral early and mid-career researchers (EMCRs).
- Evidence of original, innovative and distinguished contribution to scholarship and teaching, research and research supervision.
- Demonstrated success as an eminent authority at the national and international level in research and scholarship through high-quality publications.
- Sustained success in obtaining competitive external research grants.
- Excellence in engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national and international standing of the discipline.
Desirable Skills:
- Registered psychologist (AHPRA).
- Experience in supervision of clinical research.
