Emergency Response Specialist

The role of an Emergency Response Specialist is pivotal in ensuring community safety and responding to emergency incidents.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for attending fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community education activities, and developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses.

This position requires individuals who are eligible to apply for or hold a current Blue Card, obtain employers' written consent to attend incidents and emergencies, live or work within a reasonable distance of an emergency response station, hold Australian Permanent Resident Status, and hold a Manual C Class driver's licence.

Responsibilities
  • Attend 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours
  • Attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions
  • Obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment at own expense
  • Participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid/emergency care
  • Comply with policies and procedures, including code of conduct, safety, and personal presentation standards
