Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough carer assessments, including provisional approval assessments, to determine suitability for foster or kinship care.
  • Provide expert advice and support to carers throughout the approval process, ensuring a seamless transition and handover to caseworkers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carers, community members, and other stakeholders to promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Collaborate with the Department and Foundations Care to ensure carers meet the necessary requirements for approval.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, policies, and best practices in child protection and trauma-informed care.
Requirements
  • Assessment and risk assessment experience, with a strong understanding of complex trauma and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of child protection policies and procedures, with a focus on promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and continuous learning.
