Endoscope Technician

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Endoscope Technician.

You will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety by undertaking duties related to cleaning, disinfection, and preparation of endoscopy scopes within our state-of-the-art Endoscopy unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Manual and automated cleaning, disinfection, and inspection of endoscopy scopes and accessories
  • Ensuring compliance with AS/NZ 5369:2023 and GENCA standards
  • Operating and maintaining endoscope reprocessing equipment, including automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs)
  • Reporting and documenting quality activities
  • Prioritising instrumentation and processes
  • Maintaining the CSD area and equipment according to Standards
  • Participating in quality improvement and risk management activities
  • Assisting with general stock management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Endoscope reprocessing within an Endoscopy Department
  • GENCA Endoscope Reprocessing Certificate or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of AS/NZS 5369:2023 (cleaning, disinfection, and high-level reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and maintenance of associated environments in healthcare facilities)
  • A track record of prioritising workload demands
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling principles and techniques and ability to perform manual handling activities
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility in rostering
