Senior Social Worker Job Description

As a Senior Social Worker, you will collaborate with clients to identify issues and set goals. Your purpose is to build and strengthen their capacity while ensuring the safety of children and young people.

  • You will use evidence-informed practices and programs to address areas of risk.
  • You will provide supervision and coaching to team members.
  • You will offer regular support via phone and face-to-face visits to foster carers.

  • Ensuring the protection of children's welfare.
  • Soliciting the opinions of children and young people on all issues.
  • Supporting and guiding foster carers to learn and grow in confidence and ability.
About You

To be successful, you'll need:

  • A degree or master's in social work with eligibility for registration.
  • Prior experience working with children and families.
  • Experience in comprehensive assessments and client plan development.
  • Knowledge of QLD child protection legislation and initiatives.
