School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship Engagement Officer

The NSW Department of Education is seeking an Aboriginal Identified School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship Engagement Officer to join their team. This is a temporary full-time position until 31 December 2026.
The successful candidate will work across five schools in the Far South Coast region, providing support to students, parents, registered training organizations, and employers. A good knowledge of the region and its unique environmental and business complexities is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities- Support students in their School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships journey, leading to completion of the HSC and an industry-recognized VET qualification.
- Work collaboratively with local services to foster and develop new opportunities for students.
- Provide information and guidance to students, parents, and employers about apprenticeships and traineeships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with registered training organizations and employers to source employment opportunities for students.
- Demonstrated experience in Vocational Education and Training, Apprenticeships and Traineeships, and/or work-based youth programs.
- Capability to work with industry to source employment opportunities.
- Well-developed communication, engagement, negotiation, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG.
- Essential requirements of the role include a Working with Children Check for paid employment and appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
